Smart technology solutions create productive workplace for new VARGO® headquarters
VARGO® is a leading provider of material-handling systems integration, warehouse execution software and equipment solutions for major fulfillment and distribution centers. In November 2021, the firm announced plans to expand its operations in the Central Ohio region, investing approximately $4 million and creating 24 new jobs.
Working with Mode Architects, VARGO® developed a vision of a collaborative, tech-savvy office environment for its new Dublin, Ohio, location—and chose Integrated Building Systems to deliver the seamless and smart workplace technology solutions that would position their team for growth.
To get started on the right technology plan, the VARGO® planning team visited the Tech Studios at Integrated Building Systems to talk about their vision for the new headquarters and to get a hands-on demonstration of the latest in video conferencing, control systems, room schedulers, digital signage, sound masking, and more.
Inspired by new ideas on the tour, VARGO® asked Integrated Building Systems to create a comprehensive technology plan and budget, including:
Structured cabling and fiber backbone
Commercial audio visual, including 22 TVs, 7 digital signage devices, and video conferencing in 17 training/conference rooms and executive offices
WiFi mapping for optimal placement of wireless access points
Sound masking in open areas to create productive work environments
Room schedulers
These systems all work together to make their building smart, which helps improve their productivity. And, they avoided having to contact multiple vendors to get everything they needed.
During the construction/renovation process, Dublin city officials alerted VARGO® that they needed to conduct a life-safety test in the building to measure the strength of communication signals for first responders. Again, the VARGO® team turned to Integrated Building Systems for help in testing the building (it failed) and installing an Emergency Responder Radio System (ERRS) to provide adequate radio coverage.
