At IBS, Jason oversees telecommunications projects of all types and sizes, from installing low-voltage cabling systems at existing offices to managing full-scale integration projects for ground-up construction for commercial, industrial, and manufacturing facilities.

Jason studiously applies his technological and operational expertise to make sure projects are completed on time, on budget, and as promised to the customer. “I’m most proud of providing an excellent customer experience—meeting and exceeding the customer’s expectations,” he said. Jason appreciates that IBS shares his passion for individualized customer service.

I love working for an organization that takes pride in each project and customer relationship.

SHAPED BY THE ARMY

Though Jason’s first actual job was at Burger King, he considers his first real job to be the United States Army, where he worked in communications as a radio operator. Originally from New Jersey, Jason traveled with the Army from Alaska to Florida to South Korea to Washington. He stays involved as a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, lending much-needed assistance to this country’s veterans.

Jason’s Army career impacted his life in many ways. His communication skills transitioned from the Army to his position as project manager: he is open and honest with his coworkers and customers. Another important connection came from his time in the army: his family. Jason met his wife Heidi when they were both stationed in South Korea.

In addition to his wife, Jason’s family includes three children. His love for them is clear to see to anyone who walks into his office. His whiteboard is covered with a drawing made by his daughter, who is in the U.S. Marine Corps. “I can’t erase it! My daughter drew it for me. I’m just going to have to buy another board,” he said with a grin.

THE HONEST CHEF

People may be surprised to learn that Jason’s passion in life, other than his family, is cooking. In his free time, he loves to cook for family, citing lasagna and barbeque as favorite dishes. He explained, “My policy is that I will only go to a restaurant if they have better food than I could cook at home. I wouldn’t go out for a steak, because I can cook a mean steak.” He lists cookbooks as his favorite reading materials.

Jason, unlike his steak, is kind. He describes himself first and foremost as honest. His coworkers add that he is focused, organized, detail oriented, quick to smile, quick to help, and reliable. He lives his life by his favorite piece of advice given to him by his father: “Go with your gut feeling and you will never have regrets.”

Here are a few of Jason’s other favorite things:

  • 5-Star Film: “Full Metal Jacket”

  • Perfect Weekend: Barbeque with the family

  • Green Dreams: Bucket-List destination is Ireland

  • Free-Time Fun: Besides cooking, hunting and cycling

  • In the Stands Cheering: Go Buckeyes!

  • Supports: Veterans of Foreign Wars

  • Sweet-Tooth Fix: Twizzlers
